Purpose: To study the benefits of simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery compared to unilateral surgery of both eyes. Published 2006.

Revising the self-administered questionnaire Catquest.

Purpose: To renew and improve the questionnaire according to Rasch analyses. Published 2009.
 
To study risk factors and the outcome from vitreous complications after cataract surgery. A multi-centre study.
Authors: The board of the National Cataract Register plus teams from 10 surgical units.
Purpose: To gain further knowledge about risk factors and the outcome from vitreous complications. If possible recommendations will be given how to avoid such complications. Published 2009.
 
To study the revised version of the patient's questionnaire Catquest 9SF. A pilot study.
Authors: The board of the National Cataract Register plus six eye departments in Sweden.
Purpose: To test the psychometric properties in a revised version of a patient's questionnaire.
 

Organisation projects   

To create a priority model and a model for a fair waiting list system to be used in cataract surgery. A Q-reg project and a multi-center study.
Consulting expert/participants: Qulturum Educational Centre, Jönköping.
 
To give a recommendation for national indications for cataract surgery and to construct an e-mail form for referral of cataract patients to be ready before the introduction of a National Maximal Waiting Time Guarantee on 1 st November 2005.

To design a web-based system for input of data and output of standard reports that can be used by several national registries.
