Projects
A number of projects have been carried out and completed since 2003, mostly in the area of cataract surgery and together with the Swedish National Cataract Register, resulting in publications in sientific journals.
A literature project has resulted in an review-article about disease-specific and generic questionnaires in the area of ophthalmic care. Catquest, the questionnaire developed by and used within the Swedish National Cataract Register, was revised in autumn 2007 according to Rasch-technology and is tested with good result.
In 2003 a national project with the purpose to develop national guidelines for cataract extraction started. This project engaged nine surgical units in Sweden. A national indication instrument for cataract surgery was created and this instrument, NIKE, is now used by all surgical units in Sweden. During spring 2007 was the instrument evaluated and reported. January 2008 a revised version was released.
EyeNet Sweden organises one conference each year. Several new quality registries have been supported both practically and economically.
In May 2005 a handbook for how to start new quality registries was published. This handbook, Handbook for establishing quality registries, both a Swedish and an English version, is available on this homepage.
A number of projects have been reported on national and international congresses.
